Hehehh I wanna be the winner, hope this is the winning piece. XD Regardless, my entry is still more about meriting her, again. This time though, the way she likes it. X3

The theme she gave was Love Spring.. Well, there is a lot of things to be loved about spring isn't it? Me, I see it as a new cycle of life. Season power up, weaken and die every year. Along the process, follows its rebirth that is spring. It's celebrated like a new born too, what's with the blooming flowers & people rejoicing along. Well who doesn't like getting reborn?

Being a fan art contest, of course this character is one of hers. One distinct feature this one, namely Aria, should have is supposedly a pair of wings like that of an angel.. But I totally forgot 0_o was focusing too much in my styling metamorphosis(as said to certain people, I'm now currently studying under the influence of Joe Madureira) and though this isn't yet intended for that, apparently it's affected all the same still. And then I wanted to render this in pop anime- something I'm not used to and so here's the result.. Can't say I'm not happy with it though. XDD In fact, I'm quite blown away at the result, amazed in myself who just looked over Joe Mad's stuffs earlier this morning. >XD And it wasn't even the colouring style that I aimed for but rather the penciling process & the inks. But heyy.. Even the colour's starting to look like that of some western comic. What a luck, just hope it maintains.. And get even better.

*cough* so in making sense out of the wingless Aria, well.. First off, she wasn't born with that wing of hers. And considering my interpretation earlier, Spring, the rebirth of seasons goes just as for humans the same. So maybe if she's to get reborn she'd lost her wings? That's what I came up with.

So the styling itself isn't particularly what I regularly do(somewhat the first time in fact). I'm gaining more love for well-weighted line arts. The art style is a mix of pop anime and western comic, even the colours. Anyways, regarding the colour, It all used to be only flat. And I thought that was boring. So I started adding gradients to everything except the skin. Hmm.. Nice, but still not enough. So I added those halftones on top of the gradients. Hmm, getting better, but still not it. So I add a secondary shading to the flowers & things. Alright that's what I'm talking about... But wait, what about the skin?
Well the skin as you see, in coping with the other parts in looking pretty some, had to go through a detailwork, which I also tried a theory I've never used on and.. Though still far from perfect, ended up being surprisingly easy to do and the result really floats me to the skies with rainbows.. Ok, just skies.

Anyways, yeah.. Now that's what I'm talking about. Now I'm done with meriting people, I think it's time I get back to my personal training. X3
